Top 5 Car Companies’ Big Plan: Over 75 New Cars to Be Launched in India in the Next 5 Years

India’s automobile market is growing rapidly and has now become the third-largest car market in the world, behind only China and the United States. In terms of production, India has also made a big leap and now ranks fourth globally, after Japan.

With rising demand and changing consumer preferences, the country’s leading carmakers — Maruti Suzuki, Tata Motors, Hyundai, Mahindra & Mahindra, and Toyota — are gearing up to introduce several new models in the coming years. According to their plans, over 75 new and updated cars will be launched in the Indian market within the next five years.

Maruti Suzuki to Launch 8 New SUVs in the Next 5 Years

Maruti Suzuki remains one of India’s top-selling automobile brands. The Indo-Japanese company has set a major target for 2030, shifting its focus toward SUVs and MPVs. The automaker will begin its electric vehicle (EV) journey next month with the launch of the e-Vitara.

Maruti Suzuki plans to launch 8 new SUVs over the next five years, available in petrol, CNG, and electric variants, as part of its aggressive product expansion strategy.

Tata Motors to Introduce 7 New Cars and 23 Facelift Models

Tata Motors will launch 7 brand-new cars and 23 facelifted models in India over the next five years. The iconic Tata Sierra is set to make a comeback on November 25, followed by the highly anticipated Avinya next year.

In the future, Tata is also expected to roll out new-generation Punch and Nexon models, along with petrol-powered Harrier and Safari versions. The company plans to place special emphasis on the electric vehicle segment going forward.

Hyundai to Launch 26 New and Upgraded Cars

Hyundai Motor India is also in the race, with plans to launch 26 new vehicles in India over the next five years. The South Korean brand aims to challenge Tata Motors and Mahindra & Mahindra by introducing 7–8 new nameplates by 2030, along with several upgraded models.

These upcoming launches will include hatchbacks, SUVs, and premium hybrid SUVs. Hyundai also plans to launch its luxury brand Genesis in India by 2027. The focus this time will be on hybrid and electric vehicles.

Mahindra & Mahindra’s Upcoming Lineup

Mahindra & Mahindra is preparing for a major expansion in the Indian auto market. On August 15, the company showcased glimpses of several upcoming products.

Over the next five years, Mahindra plans to launch 9 new petrol and diesel SUVs and 7 new electric vehicles. Notably, on November 27, the company will unveil its 7-seater electric SUV, the Mahindra XEV 9S, which is expected to be a key addition to its EV portfolio.
